As you work on your timeline, you will begin to see how specific events fit into history; how seemingly distant and unrelated battles, inventions, etc. can come to together in time, culminating in world-wide effect. And if nothing else, you will begin to have a greater grasp of World, as well as “specific” history.
This is a “hands-on” project (not already printed up) that is designed with the thought in mind that your student(s) will continue to work on adding to the timeline as s/he learns history over the school year(s)–we have been working on ours for several years and neighbourhood kids are as thrilled about new additions as our kids are!. Pre-printed, illustrated Timelines are beautiful and “wow” us for a short time. If that is what you are looking for–this is not it. However, I have found that as the student(s) invests in filling in his/her timeline–there is not only lasting interest, but a tremendous pride in learning facts, inter-relationships of events, etc–and for the student(s) NOTHING congeals history like the TimelineProject!
